Who we are
and what we do
We are a rag-tag bunch of philosophers: professionals, educators, surfers, students, musicians, travelers, mathematicians, therapists, counselors, who play the noble game of philosophy and our hub of influence is Dr. Pierre Grimes.
We are about as different in identity as is possible in a community of humans. Our friends live around the globe. We are witnesses that wisdom and the love of wisdom transcends the boundaries of personality, distance, and time.
Our roots reach through time to the Hellenic traditions of Ancient Greece and the Platonic Academy, to the Eastern Wisdom traditions of Buddhism, to the core of wisdom Traditions that seek to use language to share our universal encounters with that which is beyond the boundary of thought and Mind.
To the degree each of us has the capacity, we seek to be courageous, sound-minded, harmonious, and Just. Further we seek to understand what Justice is in itself, and the other excellences of human virtue. We study our problems, that which blocks us from achieving what is most personally meaningful to each of us. We record our dreams, study them, and seek to understand from them what we have been unable to perceive in ourselves prior the dream.
We study Plato's Dialogues and other Ancient Wisdom texts, we study ourselves, our waking lives, fantasies, dreams, and our culture. Our goals are as diverse as our identities, yet we are all of One Mind, One species, One Planet. We seek to Know ourselves.

May we preserve these philosophical beauties, and exhibit them to others. May this web site expand their elegance by the enlivening rays of the philosophic fire; and by the powerful breath of genius, scatter abroad in this virtual world these latent but copious seeds.
If some sparks of this celestial fire shall animate the reader, consider yourself as well rewarded for this laborious undertaking. Ancient philosophy has been, for centuries, the only study to break the shackles of ignorance; and in which one finds an inexhaustible treasure of intellectual wealth, and a perpetual fountain of wisdom and delight.
Presuming that such a pursuit bestows the highest benefit, I, Webmistress, desire no other reward than the wealth of wisdom, and Reason as my constant Guide. If successful, may I see the praise of the liberal; and if not, I expect no defense for failure, other than the decision of the candid, and discerning few, thus the opportunity to learn, and purgation by philosophic fire.
